Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme update

Update on the Job Retention scheme

In last week’s address to the nation, the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak advised that the Government and HMRC were working on updating and clarifying some key areas and points in connection with the Coronavirus Job Retention scheme.

You will recall from earlier updates that this concerns employees and employers in these difficult times and Furloughing staff.

The update has just been issued and the main areas that have been updated are:

  • the more detailed information on scheme eligibility
  • further information on how to calculate a claim
  • clarification of what constitutes wages.
